Welcome to the Clayton Historical Society and Museum's website!

The Clayton Historical Society was founded in 1974 to "research, collect, record, preserve, display, borrow, share, and interpret local history information and memorabilia, and to promote understanding of Clayton origins and development."

Believe it or not, there was a time when gas pumps were as common as eucalyptus trees in Clayton. The Clayton Historical Society presents a special exhibit featuring classics of the road and heart.
 
Come visit the Museum during its special summer hours, which include an opening in conjunction with the Clayton Car Show each Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m.

Night at the Museum

The Clayton Historical Society will be open before the showing of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian at the Clayton Community Church’s parking lot.

Bring your family to checkout Clayton's rich history presented in the Clayton Museum.  Then head down Main Street to enjoy security guard Larry Daley as he infiltrates the Smithsonian Institution in order to rescue Jedediah and Octavius, who have been shipped to the museum by mistake. | Full synopsis »
