President Ted Meriam Announces 2010 Strategic Initiatives for Historical Society
December 8, 2009 - As shared during his inauguration speech at this year's General Meeting, President Ted Meriam outlined three strategic initiatives for the Clayton Historical Society in 2010. Everything the Society accomplishes in 2010 should fall under one of these categories, supported by the Board of Directors and Volunteers.

2008
32nd Annual Camellia Tea
Sunday, Feb. 8th from 1-4pm -- Please join members of the Clayton Historical Society and Clayton's pioneering families as we enjoy complimentary tea, cookies, and a showcase of locally-grown camellias. Tea will be poured this year by male members of the Society.

Barbecue on the Mountain
June 9, 2008 -- Join members of the Clayton Historical Society and local community for a cookout featuring tri-tip, chicken, beans, salad, baked potatoes, rolls, and coffee. In addition, participate in many activities including swimming, horseshoes, cribbage, and games. The BBQ will be held on June 21st from 2-6pm on Mt. Diablo.

New Flag Raised at Museum
March 9, 2008 -- The American flag flying above the Museum was replaced today by the Robles and Freeman families. The caustic January storms in Clayton damaged the old “weatherproof” flag, which was tattered and torn. The new flag was raised Sunday by Lauren Robles and Travis Freeman, with John Robles and Tyson Freeman supervising.

Remaking the Grove

New Exhibit Opens at Museum
January 13, 2007 -- The Clayton Museum is featuring a special exhibit of Depression Glass and Vintage Linens from January 13 through June 1. The display, coordinated by Jan Trolan & Mary Spryer, consists of pieces loaned by Mary & Jan, as well as Diana Hunt & Dinah Towns & some from the museum’s collection.

Honoring Our Pioneering Past
July 4, 2007 -- The Historical Society celebrated our great country and the Sesquicentennial of Clayton’s founding by participating in this year's 4th of July Parade, held downtown. Community members joined in and honored Clayton's past, present, and future families.

Volunteers Restore Antique Flagpole
June 26, 2007 -- Members of E Clampus Vitus Chapter 13 ("The Clampers") recently restored a 100 year-old-flagpole donated to the Clayton Historical Society by the Olofson Family in 1976. The pole had been a gift to the family by their San Francisco relatives who took refuge with them after the 1906 earthquake.
